This course is intended to develop the sensitivity as well as the skills and knowledge needed by teachers to create an educational environment that is conducive to learning for students with disabilities and for those who may have other learning challenges such as English second language learners. Students will investigate strategies for differentiating instruction for students with learning and other disabilities within the general education environment. Through lecture and hands-on experience, participants will explore practical uses of software that can be applied to classroom learning materials to make those materials more accessible to students needing assistance.
